Farm Profiles

Eden’s Harvest

Joe and Jenell Blair never intended to be farmers, but when they became frustrated with large-scale agriculture, they decided to take things into their own hands.

What started as some chicks and a small garden eventually grew into a full-blown community-supported agriculture farm or CSA.

By 2019 the Blairs were producing eggs, chicken and turkey, beef, and fresh vegetables.

They were looking for a healthy way to feed their family, and now they have a healthy way to feed many families in their community. It’s “clean, healthy food you feel good about eating.”

Wild Paint Cut Flowers

In South Ashton, KY, lives Karen Hogsten, owner and farmer of Wild Paint Cut Flowers.

Inspired by her grandmothers, Karen has loved flowers her entire life, and it eventually became her business.

Wild Paint Cut Flowers provides fresh, locally grown flowers for events like weddings, and at farmers markets in the South Ashton area.

While the focus is on weddings, WPCF also offers weekly flower subscriptions, and you can visit the farm to pick your own bouquet.

The farm was only established in 2017, but “flowers make you smile,” and business is booming.
