Kentucky’s Farm Organizations

The AgriBusiness Association of Kentucky is the premier organization representing agriculture businesses in the Commonwealth. ABAK has been at the forefront of reducing overly burdensome government regulations that would harm Kentucky agribusinesses.

The primary function of the Agriculture Workforce Management Association, Inc. (AWMA) is to provide guidance to its stockholder employers who wish to apply for temporary alien agricultural labor certification for the purpose of employing H2A workers on a temporary or seasonal basis.

The mission of AgSafe is to provide practical health and safety education to the agricultural community. Since 1991, we have trained over 100,000 employers, supervisors, and farm workers in the most critical issues impacting worker safety, human resources, pesticide safety, and food safety.

AFT created the conservation agriculture movement, which speaks for the land—and for the people who grow our food. As the movement’s leaders, we have three priorities: protecting agricultural land, promoting environmentally sound farming practices, and keeping farmers on the land.

The BDTPA is a grower association working to represent all tobacco growers in an effort to build a strong, profitable program for growers that is sustainable. Current membership represents growers from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina and West Virginia. Active tobacco growers can become a part of the Association at no cost. 

The Community Farm Alliance works to organize and encourage cooperation among rural and urban citizens through leadership development and grassroots democratic processes to ensure an essential, prosperous place for family-scale agriculture in our economies and communities.

Feeding Kentucky’s seven-member food banks serve all 120 Kentucky counties in partnership with a network of over 800 local food pantries and shelters. They reach an estimated 1 in 7 of all Kentuckians each year.

The KACD is a private, grass-roots organization made up of the governing bodies of Kentucky's 121 Conservation District Board of Supervisors, or 847 Supervisors.  It is also composed of some 30 Watershed Conservancy Districts Board of Directors or between 150 and 200 Directors. 

KCA’s mission is to provide a strong proactive voice for all of Kentucky’s beef farm families, serve as a resource for information and education for producers, consumers, and the industry, and be a catalyst for enhancing producer sustainability.

The Kentucky Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (KCARD) is a non-profit organization established to facilitate agricultural and rural business development in Kentucky. We provide educational opportunities, technical assistance, and business support services to new and existing agribusinesses. 

As the advocacy arm of the corn industry, the Kentucky Corn Growers Association is a grassroots organization that works to ensure a pro-corn business and policy environment. The organization empowers corn farmers to elevate their voice in the governmental process.

The Kentucky Dairy Development Council consists of dairy farmers, multiple allied industries, and professional advisory supporters working together to sustain and grow Kentucky's dairy industry. 

The Department of Agriculture was created to promote the interests of agriculture and horticulture in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

KEEP is the economic advocate for Kentucky’s $6.5 billion horse industry in Frankfort and Washington, DC. Since 2006, they have championed issues that benefit Kentucky horses, breeders, race tracks, and horsemen, in turn increasing the industry’s financial contribution to the Commonwealth’s economy, job creation, agricultural exports, and global investment.

Kentucky Farm Bureau has served as the "Voice of Kentucky Agriculture," representing the interests of agricultural producers and rural communities.  The organization was founded at a meeting in Louisville in November 1919.  With hundreds of thousands of members, KFB is one of the largest Farm Bureaus in the nation.

The Kentucky Forest Industries Association (KFIA) represents the wood products industry, landowners, and forestry interests in Kentucky. The Association promotes the economic welfare and interests of the wood products industry through a number of programs and works with regulatory agencies advocating for forestry in the legislative process at the state and national levels.

Your connection to the Kentucky Equine Industry. A private nonprofit that offers the "Foal License Plate" develops programs for Trails, Health and Welfare, Horse Owners, Youth, and Legislation.  They are an all-breed, all-discipline organization managed by a Board of Directors and operated out of an office at the Kentucky Horse Park.

KHC’s purpose is to support the state horticulture industry and be a resource for information and education for growers, business owners, and the public to promote a thriving industry.

The Kentucky Livestock Coalition, a diverse group of livestock, grain, and farm organizations, works to ensure the public receives the most accurate and up-to-date information about Kentucky Agriculture and its livestock industry.

The Kentucky Nursery and Landscape Association’s mission is to unify and represent Kentucky Green Industry businesses through education, recognition, and services.

The Kentucky Pork Producers is a producer-led organization representing all pork producers throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. They serve the interests of Kentucky swine producers through federally collected Pork Checkoff funds.

The Kentucky Poultry Federation was organized in 1957 as a civic and educational non-profit corporation. The federation exists for the purpose of fostering, promoting, and encouraging the improvement of production and marketing of all types of poultry, poultry products, eggs, and egg products in Kentucky.

KSGDO provides administrative support for each association and serves as the hub for small ruminant production and consumption information. Learn more about our office and all we do in Kentucky for goats and sheep. 

In order to help small grain growers improve production practices and grow those markets, a group of visionary small grain producers, university personnel, and industry representatives gathered in 1988 to form the Kentucky Small Grain Growers Association (KySGGA).

The Kentucky Soybean Board promotes effective policies and legislation to ensure a growing and profitable soybean industry.

The Kentucky Soybean Association is working for members through advocacy, policy and education to increase soybean profitability.

The Kentucky State Beekeepers Association (KSBA) is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization dedicated to apiculture in Kentucky, serving backyard, sideline, and commercial beekeepers.

The Kentucky Vegetable Growers Association was established in 1970 as a non-profit organization to bring together growers, researchers, and individuals across the state who are interested in vegetable production.

Kentucky Women in Agriculture (KWIA) is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization made up of a diverse group of individuals with ties to the agriculture industry in the Commonwealth.
