Farm Profiles
Penick Farms
Since 1941, Penick Farms has been producing good food for the Hopkinsville, KY, community.
In its earlier days, Penick Farms focused on growing hay and raising cattle, but they have shifted to produce in the last few years.
Now they grow fruits and vegetables using the same methods they always have and sell through their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
Bucks N Bison Farm
Also located in Hopkinsville, Bucks N Bison is just what it sounds like, but also does so much more.
The husband-wife duo that owns the farm focuses on raising high-quality meat from bison and beef cows.
However, they also sell live animals (everything from miniature donkeys to cutting horses) and hides.
Their farm store offers fruits, vegetables, eggs, goat milk, and beauty products made from things like honey and hemp seed.
Bucks N Bison requires hard-working farmers, but everything goes to the community and ensures there is a supply of local, high-quality food.
