Wholesome Ridge Farm

“Welcome to Wholesome Ridge Farm! Our mission is to get wholesome, locally grown food into as many hands and homes as we can.  On and off the farm, we strive to be wholesome in all things:  Family, Faith, and Farming. What do we mean by wholesome food? Food that is grown naturally, without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or antibiotics. Basically, food we feel good about feeding to our family.” - https://wholesomeridgefarm.com/

Hickory Grove Farm

Ryan is a farmer, organic advocate, and foodie. He is a graduate of both Georgetown College and the University of Kentucky. After spending time pursuing other interests, he returned to the family farm, where he led the transition of Hickory Grove Farm’s current iteration: organic vegetables and pastured meats.

Off the farm, Ryan pursues involvement in many avenues that propel specialty crops and regenerative agriculture forward. Among others, he serves as President of the Lexington Farmers Market, President of Community Farm Alliance’s Board of Directors, and Member of the Board of Directors for the Accredited Certifiers Association, the industry voice for all organic certifiers.

By day, he is the Director of the Plant Division at the KDA. Here, the programs he manages include complementary interests: Produce Safety, Organic Certification programs, Food Safety, and others.

His most recent venture as owner of Southern Organic Farm, Feed, and Seed seeks to fill the gap for central Kentucky's organic farm needs. https://www.hickorygrovefarm.com/our-animals

Slaughter Family Farm

Serving Shelby, Spencer, Bullitt, and the Louisville metro area, Slaughter Family Farm offers pasture-based farm producing pasture poultry, duck, turkey, lamb, chicken & duck eggs, and forest-raised pork in Shelby County, KY.

“Slaughter Family Farm began in a quarter-acre backyard in Okolona, KY, in 2018. With the help of a friend, I built my first mobile coop and chicken tractor to house six barred rock hens and fifty broilers. We started by simply selling a small number of products to friends and neighbors.” https://www.slaughterfamilyfarm.com/products
