Laurel Ridge Dairy

For over 20 years, Pete and Gayla Szak of Sweet T Farm have been raising purebred Hereford Cattle in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. Their cattle herd consists of both purebred Red and Black Herefords. Calving 60-80 calves annually, exclusively in the fall, allows them to market open heifers from summer to fall and provide service-age bulls beginning in December through spring. Extensive use of artificial insemination services sires from high-quality Red and Black Herefords across the country provides you with the best genetics possible.

If there's anything they strive for, it's an emphasis on maternal qualities such as calving ease, excellent udders, and strong, healthy calves. They fully understand that before a bull calf can become a bull or a heifer calf can become a cow; the calves need to be born unassisted and grow well on native pasture alone without supplements or additional commodity feeds. Even the calves before weaning receive no creep. All this adds up to problem-free, productive cattle with good dispositions requiring minimal assistance and are guaranteed to be breeders for the long term.
