Farm Profiles

Scarbaro Farm

Located in Grayson, KY, the Scarbro Farm family is dedicated to growing safe, sustainable food for their local community.

Scarbro Farm is only in its first generation, but they are certified Kentucky Proud and part of a local CSA program, which means Community Supported Agriculture.

Scarbro produces a lot of fresh produce, with pumpkins and peppers being favorites.

They also sell eggs from their chickens, live ducklings, and pork.  People wishing to buy from Scarbro Farm can visit the land or order their produce online and have it delivered to specialized locations.

Forgotten Foods Farm

Olive Hill, Kentucky is home to Forgotten Foods Farm, set on land that has been handed down and farmed for more than six generations.

In the past, it has been used for just about everything: supporting a family, tobacco crops, and even herds of cattle once grazed there.

The current generation of Forgotten Foods farmers, the Richardsons, are re-starting after a 30-year break, and they are doing things a little differently.

Forgotten Foods now produces fruits and vegetables, maple syrup, honey, sorghum, and lots of jellies and jams.

The farm is USDA-certified.

S&K Farm

Romans Farm has been operated by Samantha and Katherine Romans in Grayson since 2013. They raise chickens, goats, and cows, and they grow a garden every year. In the garden, you can find tomatoes, corn, beans, zucchini, cucumbers, squash, cabbage, potatoes and more. Fun fact: they have a goat that won’t stay in the pin no matter what you do.
